This book was recommended by my pediatrician because my 7-month-old stopped sleeping through the night. I was hoping this would be helpful but there was nothing new or innovative, just basic advice you could find anywhere. I already do everything the book explains except for letting my baby cry it out. For first time moms who are really struggling and need some guidance, this could be a resource but a quick Google search would tell you the same things. For moms who already have a typical daily routine and do a nighttime routine of bath, feeding, white noise, dark room, and crib, the only thing added is to let them cry (for hours or all night if necessary) if they wake up. Not the advice I was looking for. Basically, the sleep advice is - do nothing and just let your infant figure out the hard way that their cry is meaningless and no one is coming to their call until they have been in their crib for 10-12 hours-sleep or no sleep. This book is okay but I was disappointed to find nearly all the same information from the first book. There is some good stuff about scheduling for older babies but there was a lot of repeat that I found annoying. I had hoped I would get an entirely new book. Also I would take their scheduling with a grain of salt—definitely some of it is useful but the expectations they set aren’t realistic for everyone.
